I Actually Did Something This Week!

"Sunday Scrappin" is a meme (hosted by the talented Amy) for scrapbookers and all paper crafters - a place to share your ta-da's and your to-do's as well as answer a "bonus question" related to crafting.

I haven't been able to do anything - NOTHING - in the way of crafting for at least three weeks, so this week, I took a small (tiny) step toward crafting again.

I ordered prints of my digital photos from Webshots to go in this adorable Hallmark holiday album.
I also unloaded a huge box (and then some) of memorabilia that I plan to put in my kids' school albums. Remember those old "school days" books some of us had when we were little? My mom bought me something similar, but a whole lot better. It is a ringed binder with a separate folder for each age/grade as well as pockets for mementos and places for photos. I've tried to find them online, but I haven't been successful.

I also took pictures today of our step-daughter and her college when we drove her up to Nacogdoches after a rare weekend home. And I checked some websites for inspiration for the next pages that I do.
I am looking for something that will help me organize some scrapbooking supplies in a relatively small place so that I can have them at my fingertips for the occasional time I do have to do crafts. Paper, photos, scissors, a few embellishments, that I can keep handy instead of in my big rolling cart that is hard to lug out. Any suggestions?

Bonus Question: What are your favorite crafts sites? I am really enjoying Page Maps. They have sketches of design layouts that are good when you need some ideas. Can't wait to read everyone else's!

  1. Cute album! If you have a specific project you want to work on or are working on you can keep your supplies handy in a tote or small bin that you can easily pull out. Have a great week!

  2. That album is cute. I think sometimes the "research" around a project takes me longer than the actual project. I've got to check out PageMaps- it's been mentioned a couple of places this week.

  7. Sounds like you're one step closer to being back on the scrap wagon. LOL.Hope you can get more done this week!

Before I got a lot of scrapping stuff, I used to keep my supplies in an upright Rubbermaid type container that had a carrying handle. You can see a picture of it here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/LilMamaShutterbug/organize010.jpg
It worked great and I could put as little or as much into it as I wanted!

  9. I've been scrapping for a while too but I'm lucky enough to have plenty of room and lots of supplies. Still, I think it can be narrowed down to lots of pretty, decorative and coordinating 12X12 paper, solid color cardstock, a paper-cutter, adhesive, corner-rounder and paper scissors. It would be nice to have some colored buttons and misc. ribbon. A solid background, several strips of patterned paper (layered), and creative picture-trimming and layout, perhaps matted with another coordinating color. I also journal on my computer and print it off on white cardstock. I'm all about keeping it simple so I can keep on moving!
