Wordless Wednesday

I can't do this wordless! We have been through one season of t-ball, five seasons of soccer, three seasons of football, one season of basketball, and now, in our first season of real baseball, my son gets injured. He took a ball to the top of the eye as you can see in the photograph. I am getting such conflicting opinions - take him to the doctor, take him to the ER, just watch him for 24 hours, ice it. FROM NURSES AND DOCTORS that I know! What's a mom to do? Well, this mom is not sending him to school tomorrow, and then I'll decide if I'm taking him in. I'm going to check on his throughout the night and go from there. What would you do?

  1. How scary! My husband had to give up baseball because this happened to him all the time. I just hope he's Ok! I've had bee stings in that same spot - the swelling falls - he'll be bruised on his cheek soon.

    Scary. ((hug))

  2. Omg! I would be worried enough to have that x-rayed. I hope your son feels better soon.

  3. I bet it hurt you more then the boy.
I feel it when my boy fell upside down from his bike.
Diana, want to play a tag? I tagged you, take a look!

  4. You did exactly the right thing - to watch him through the night. I'm sure he's all right - keep him home from school, what the heck! If it gets very badly swelled take him to the ER...

  5. How's he doing now? This has happened here and generally it is just a bruise, but occassionally it can be more. ice and observation is best and if you are concerned an x-ray wouldn't hurt.
He'll have a shiner for a bit though.

  7. OOOOccchhh... My son had this happen too - about 3-4 years ago & he hasn't hit the same since. But... he hasn't been hit by the ball in the head either, so... ;)
