This is breathtaking. I took my students outside Thursday of last week to witness the shuttle flying piggy-back on a 757. Our school is located by Johnson Space Center (NASA - in Houston), so it's what we call a "teachable moment." What an awesome sight, to be so close to the shuttle!

ReplyDeleteI loved going down to NASA when we were kids. My aunt and uncle would take us frequently, but that was pre space shuttle days. I was fortunate to live near Edwards Air Force Base and with being military we were able to get close ups of a few landings.

ReplyDeleteI can't believe it, but I was actually able to see it too. A bunch of 5th graders almost trampled me, but I prevailed. ;) It was such an awesome sight!
