There are many things I am grateful for at this time. No, everything in my life is not perfect, and not everything is the way I want it to be, but expressing gratitude is one step I sometimes take that lifts my mood when I am feeling down. Perhaps I will start keeping a gratitude journal.
Today, I am grateful for...
My mother - Her surgery was successful, and though we had a rough patch and thought we might lose her - the Lord saw fit to save her. She will undergo chemo for the first time in about ten days. I love my mom, and I want her to have the quality of life she enjoys, and God is extending His hand to us.
My husband - though we rarely see eye-to-eye lately. He loves me, though it doesn't always seem like it, but we are learning to see the positive things in each other.
My children - My oldest step-daughter is going through a rough time, and I am thankful I can be there as something sturdy she can count on. My twins have both been sick, but God's healing hand has come, and they are on the mend.
South Houston Bible Institute - I take a class through SHBI which brings me closer to God as I study. I'm grateful that they can provide tuition-free courses with an academically respectable curriculum. I am currently enrolled in a class on Old Testament Prophets.

Even when times are tough, we can always find something to be grateful for. Before I went to sleep last night I was crying for someone I miss so much. Yet I am so thankful to have been loved by him. And to be surrounded by so much love in my daily life. You gotta get up & keep moving. Look for the flowers instead of the weeds! Healing thoughts for your mom,step-daughter & twins and hugs to you!
