The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Sparks attempts a twist in his signature love story book, a mystery. It's not his best work, actually quite predictable, and doesn't tug on the heart strings like many of his books.

After glutting on Nicholas Sparks for a while, I find that I cannot stomach him anymore. A pity. He's a fine writer, but it just seems that his books are the same old same old. Glad to hear he's branching out a little bit!
ReplyDeleteIf it weren't for the fact that someone always has to die in Sparks' books, I'd like them a lot more. Too much angst, too many kleenex.
ReplyDeleteSome authors really only have one story to tell, no matter how many books they write. I find that there are few authors who can keep my interest for book after book after book. Maybe I just have a short attention span!
ReplyDeleteI will admit I love Nicholas Sparks but this wasn't one of his best books.
