Molly over at The Bumbles Blog hosts a Monday Movie Meme.
Today's Feature Presentation: Back to the Future, or movies about time travel.
This sounds like the perfect topic for The Time Traveller's Wife (2009), but since I haven't seen it yet because I want to read the book first, here are a few other movies involving time travel.
A Christmas Carol (1984, et. al.)- A little twist in time does Ebenezer Scrooge a lot of good. I prefer the version with George C. Scott, but the animated/3D version (2009) with Jim Carrey was pretty good, too.
A Kid in King Arthur's Court (1995) - Calvin goes back in time to learn some valuable lessons. Co-stars Kate Winslet before she was uber-famous.

The Time Traveler's Wife is in our Netflix cue. Was it good?
ReplyDeleteI really want to see The Time Traveller's Wife. Must get that soon.
ReplyDeleteAh yes - A Christmas Carol! Great choice. What about Scrooged with Bill Murray? I saw that a long time ago and remember thinking it was a pretty creative take on the story.
ReplyDeleteI read the TTTW and was surprised that I enjoyed it. You just kind of have to suspend all disbelief and just go with it. It is a tremendous love story. But I'm not sure how the movie could pull off the time travel stuff without it being too cheesy? So I haven't seen it yet.
Loved A Christmas Carol. Still need to see Time Travelers Wife though. Hubby & I used to go to the movies at leat 1-2 times a week if not more... that is before kids. The last 5 years I've maybe gone a 4 times. Sigh! :)
