Does anyone else out there have thinning hair? I've always had thin, soft, baby fine hair, but as I've gotten older, it is becoming so much more noticeable, especially at the crown. Of course, I know about Minoxidil (brand name Rogaine), but I've heard that it leaves your hair looking greasy, and I can't go to work with greasy hair. And I've also heard that it only works in a small percentage of people. Guess I need to do some research.
I've learned to style my hair so that I pull the sides up and it covers the two areas that are the worst, but tonight, after washing my hair, I looked at the back in the mirror and realized that's only going to work for so much longer. And NO, I'm not being vain. It is terribly noticeable. My sister even teases me about my bald spots (how mean!). She's the lucky one with thick, wavy hair. I got my grandmother's hair. She was almost completely bald with only a few wisps of hair on the top and sides of her head by the time she was 45 or 50. Eeeeeeek! What am I going to do?
Seriously, if anyone has suggestions or knows any facts about female hair loss, please leave a comment.
