sacrifice
noun sac·ri·fice \ˈsa-krə-ˌfīs, also -fəs or -ˌfīz\
: the act of giving up something that you want to keep especially in order to get or do something else or to help someone
A parent sacrifices so much for his/her child/ren. What have you sacrificed?
Having more stuff?
A bigger house?
Better car?
Gourmet meals?
Your figure?
Time?
Comfort?
Money?

Especially when I remember that Jesus made the biggest sacrifice, his life, in order to redeem us of our sins. I am humbled.
Sacrifice .... i choose to be a mother... and thankfully, how hard it was, i was blessed with two .. everything i did (or did not do) for them was an act of love.... never a sacrifice.

Melody, I see a sacrifice as CHOOSING to give something up in favor of something else, and I chose to give up much because I love my children. That is sacrifice by my definition. It's not a bad thing. It's a loving choice.
ReplyDeletewell, you WANT to sacrifice for your child, quite often
