Random Tuesday and Coffee Chat

I'm linking up with Stacy Uncorked for some randomness and with Ink Interrupted for conversation.

I. Am. Exhausted!  More about that later.

So, my husband and I decided to start the online Weight Watchers program.  Yippee!  Yay!  Hooray!  Please imagine those interjections in place of the expletives I would rather use.  I hate counting points!  And I'm hungry all the time.  Sure, I've lost a few pounds, but I think I would have as much success counting fat and calories with My Fitness Pal.  I'm not giving up, but I don't know how anyone can be happy on this particular diet.  I really want a piece oh homemid

On to better news.  My son has applied for admission to my alma mater.  If all goes well, he will be transferring from community college to university in August.  I don't know what I'm going to do when all the kids are away at college.  He's been my saving grace around here some days. I pray he is accepted because he finally knows what he wants to do.  He finally has a goal!

So, I watched The Bachelor the other day.  When you start watching a show like that, you know it's going to be a train wreck, but you just can't help but watch.  Then, I got to thinking.. He's kissing all fou r girls and rubbing up against them, and that's just gross, and it's even more gross because the girls know he's kissing all of them!  I could never be in that position!

Saturday my husband and I went to the dinner theater at a local restaurant.  The play was called Rex's Exes.  It was fairly humorous, and the dinner was delicious.  If you're ever in the Houston area, check out the dinner theater at Franca's.  There is a performance about once a month, I think.

And now to Coffee Chat hosted by Ink Interrupted.

Our host asks us...
HOW ARE YOU?
RIGHT NOW - IN THIS MOMENT

As I stated above, I am wiped out, exhausted, tired, barely hanging on, running on empty.

Why?  Well, I get up and go to work every day.  I get there about 8:15.  I'm there until 5,usually 6, every day.  I rarely actually get a conference period anymore:  professional development, planning time, meetings, parent conferences, and data input.  After dinner, I usually do some cleaning then I do more work at home: papers to grade, lessons to design, grades to input, and so on.  I go to bed between 11 and 12 and repeat the next day.  If all I had to do was teach, I would be so happy!  I don't hate my job, although some days middle-schoolers can be tough.  I like what I do.  I'm just so tired!

  1. I tried Weight Watchers once too, but I got tired of counting and keeping track of points all the time. What I love about the 21 Day Fix challenge I am doing now is that you have the coloured coded containers, and if it fits in the container: you can have it. Meaning healthy food of course. The plan tells you how many of each container you can have each day, depending on your exercise routine. It's pretty calorie restrictive though - but that's why it's only 21 days: it resets your portion control so that you can maintain after. It's pretty easy to follow.
The daily grind of life: sleep, eat, work, come home eat, sleep, work.. repeat - ugh. It's so monotonous. I think that is what drags us down more than the actual work itself. It's hardly the exciting thrilling life of kissing various people within minutes, right? LOL
That's exactly why I can't watch those shoes. Real life might be mundane, but I like the beauty I find there over some fabricated, plastic version that's for sale.
