I hardly slept Sunday night. I have no idea why. On the weekend, I'm a night owl. I can stay up till 2 AM quite easily, and I can sleep in, especially on Saturday. I wish every day were like that! But, I have to be an adult and get up and go to work five days a week. So, I got up and went in spite of only sleeping about four hours. It was a long day!
Thoughts just go through my mind and I can't turn my brain off. Anyone else have that problem? I can hear shouts of "Yes!" and "Me!" throughout the blogosphere. I know I'm not alone in that. But it really sucks!

So... completely changing the subject, since this is supposed to be random... My darling daughter comes home from England in 8 days. I. CAN'T. WAIT! She'll be coming home with 16 credit hours of college course work and immeasurable maturity and global awareness. While studying abroad, she has been to 9 different countries, countries I will likely never see. I can't wait to hear all about it! (Here she is in a meadow somewhere near Oxford, England.)
And on another note, my husband and I started watching Arrested Development on Netflix. We've watched about six episodes so far, maybe 7. I'm not sure I like it yet. I don't dislike it. I just don't know if I like it well enough to devote time to watch it. Any thoughts?
And now, it's time for Coffee Chat with Rorey Bore.
Our lovely hostess says, “It’s a Random Chat. Pick a topic, let loose a rant, explain American politics to me… whatever your mind needs to release. “
Here goes: I need to call the city to get a street light replaced. It's been out for months. Of course, any one of my family or neighbors could also have called, but have they? Nope.
My son finally has a girlfriend. He's 19, and it's not as if he hasn't ever dated, but he really hasn't had a serious girlfriend until now. And my nephew, who is 25, is getting serious with his girlfriend, like, marriage serious. And my daughter who is 23 is engaged. Love is definitely in the air!
Now, on to American politics.
Ha! Fat chance!
I couldn't begin to explain that to anyone without sounding like an idiot. There really is no simple explanation. It's complicated and crazy! But you can go HERE for a crash course!
Have a great week, everyone!
I hate those sleepless nights! Especially when my brain is way too active for my own good. Those are usually the times I come up with something witty or fun to write, but of course during the light of day, my mind goes blank. ;)
ReplyDeleteHow cool your son's doing a speech on Ernest Hemingway - he would be a fun subject to help research! :)
Your daughter is so lucky she had that opportunity!!! I hope Princess Nagger does something like that when the time comes - wish I could have done that myself!
I've never watched Arrested Development - it's been on my list for a while, but my list is rather long, so my current favorite shows get first watch. ;)
Crazy that streetlight has been out for months - wonder if the city is one of those that will let it stay that way until someone bugs them about it.
Wow! Love really is in the air, isn't it? :)
Sleepless nights are really awful. A couple of weeks ago I didn't sleep all night and felt awful the whole next day. I hope sleep finds you and stays with you when you want it.
ReplyDeleteRunning thoughts? You are definitely Me. I typically go on about 5 hours of sleep, and despite what people may assume about stay at home moms, I don't sleep in because I have to get them off to school - then once I am awake: I'm awake. There is no going back to bed. Not unless I am very sick.
ReplyDeleteI loved Arrested Development. It wasn't my typical genre, but it's really smart writing. And the quirky characters just grew on me more and more. Plus, Jason Bateman is just amazing. One of my first celebrity crushes from back in his Silver Spoons days.
It definitely sounds like Spring got people around you all "twitterpated." lol
