A Last Day of School Poem
Written by Forgetfulone, June 1, 2016
‘Twas the
last day of school, and all through the halls,
The
students were excited, bouncing off the walls,
The
grades were all posted, the lockers cleaned out,
They were
ready for summer, of this there’s no doubt,
The
teachers were waiting, biding their time,
For the
1:00 bell to sound its sweet chime,
Phone
calls were made, grades ready to print,
It won’t
be too long till the last email is sent,
Mr. L in his button-down, the rest in our jeans,
Waited
all year to see what "Ledinsowta" means,
And what
are our wondering minds looking for?
To see if
our students had a passing STAAR score.
No matter
what happens, we know we’re supreme,
Our
faculty games proved we make a good team,
And then,
in a twinkling, the halls will be hollow,
And
shortly thereafter, the teachers will follow,
The
school year is over, that’s music to our ears,
But admit
it, dear friends, it’s been a great year!
I hope you are able to enjoy Summer Break!
