What a great time of year for sports! Our Houston Astros have won 9 games in a row. They swept the Yankees and swept the Mariners. They are on a roll to TAKE IT BACK!

Our Houston Rockets have taken game 1 in the first round of playoffs against the Utah Jazz. What a great last few days it's been!I'm still contemplating whether I am going to retire from teaching this year or next. I've put in 30 years with only one year off (in which I subbed). The principal I work for is making decisions that will directly have a negative impact on teachers, but not students. It seems to me that she should make decisions that impact students positively without upsetting and angering teachers. It may be why 8 or 10 teachers are retiring and 4 or 5 have requested transfers. I don't know. It's a tough decision. I would still need to work, but I could make up the deficit between my salary and my retirement check by working part time. It's been on my mind so much lately.
