Is it just me, or does Jim Parsons resemble David Cassidy? I was watching "How it Really Happened" about the death of David Cassidy, and at a glance, I thought they looked similar. What do you think?

I went in for allergy testing yesterday. They tested me for 116 possible allergies. Eighty of them were done with the scratch tests.

I had ten of these, each with 8 lancets, on my back. Then we moved to the second part where the rest of the allergens, 36, to be exact, were done with the intradermal injection on the upper arms.

It was like getting 36 shots, and I'm a bleeder. My arms look terrible! All of those little dots turn almost black with blood. Not that I really care how it looks, but that part of the test was painful.
Turns out, it was a colossal waste of time and money. I won't even tell you how much it cost. And I wasn't surprised by any of my allergies except one, pet dander. My other allergies: dust and dust mites, mold, and tree pollen. But I really already knew that. If I want to treat my allergies with immunotherapy, I will have to go off my migraine prevention medicine. And the cost... don't get me started! So, do I stop the migraine meds and get the allergy shots or do I continue using OTC allergy medicine? I have no idea!

Love the Brady Bunch zoom call! Mom has had allergies her whole life and has had those tests too. She found that taking vitamin D has reduced her symptoms to almost zero. A long time ago she read about using vitamin D for kids allergies so she tried it and hasn't had to use any allergy meds since. She does feel the allergies a little bit, but she can live with that.
ReplyDeleteI only have allergies to cats and I still love on cats. It's not super severe, but bad enough to me a pain. I so love kitties though. I have no idea how to help you. You'll figure it out I'm sure.

Allergies, ugh! For years growing up i had allergy shots, and i have fewer allergies now so either they worked or i outgrew the allergies.
ReplyDeleteHyperbaric chamber treatment is, i think, considered generally safe, but i'd research it thoroughly before putting her through that.

ReplyDeleteAllergies are no fun - my BFF suffered from them every spring. I think my aunt just had that barrage of allergy testing done, too - getting poked with needles in multiple places? No thank you! Personally I think that OTC allergy meds are way better than giving up your migraine meds...
ReplyDeleteHyperbaric oxygen therapy could very well be the answer for your mom's leg wound... I think my father-in-law did that at one point and swore by it.
