Randomly Happy - Family, Christmas, and Crafts

Sandee over at Comedy Plus hosts Happy Tuesday, and Stacy over at Stacy Uncorked hosts Random Tuesday Thoughts.  Won't you join in?

It feels like forever since I blogged although it was only last Thursday!  I did forget to do my Sunday Synopsis, but maybe I'll have it coming up this week... but this is a jam-packed week again!

I made my trip to see one of my daughters.  We went to the
Dallas Arboretum and Decorator's Warehouse as planned plus quite a few other places.  Those were the big ones.  We had a great time! The first thing we did was watch a short cooking demonstration from the owner of The Jelly Queens.  She made a Parkland Pie with cranberries and pecans, and it was delicious.

The Arboretum, in addition to their gorgeous gardens, has a 12 days of Christmas display where each day is depicted in a carousel type structure, and you walk most of the gardens to see them all.  They also have a musical light show on a gigantic Christmas tree twice on every half hour. The people at the arboretum are more than happy to take your picture.

Their special display this year is a Christmas village with a German influence.  There are dozens of adorable "shops" like a candy store, post office, doctor's office, clock tower, and bakery, which are mainly photo opportunities, and each shop gives out a little goodie like pumpkin bread, sticker, or a tootsie roll, mostly for the kids, but adults love it, too. That is also where Santa's house is.  We didn't wait in line to see Santa! They also have a picnic area and food vendors.  Great experience!

Decorator's Warehouse was interesting: Over 60,000 square feet of Christmas goodies for sale including lights, trees, ornaments, stockings, and so much more!  It was overwhelming walking in because it's jam packed with so much Christmas!  I like that they had different themed trees, and everything on that particular tree could be found below or in the near vicinity of that tree.  Some themes were North Pole Party, Winter Woodland, and Santa's Sweet Shoppe, but there was so much more!  It's a little overpriced, but I expected that.  I got a few new things as did my daughter.

After all that fun, it just continues!  I've been crafting at home a lot (making ornaments, sewing) but my sister and I are going on a four-night scrapbook retreat, and I leave Wednesday. I can't wait! Creating is so fun!  When I get back, I will finish decorating the house.  At least my tree is up (I didn't say it was decorated yet, though).

Now let's get to the funnies!

Or at least a nap!  I'm not a big drinker.

So true!

My kind of "baking!"

Huge dilemma in my house!

Does everyone have a drawer that seems to be impossible to open?  I do.

If I could answer this, I'd be rich, not to mention being beloved if I could solve it!

And before you go...
Here is another daughter's kitty under their tree.

Have a great weekend!
