Like I Always Say...Better Late than Never

 

Yeah, I know.  So sue me!  JK!

Today is my mom's birthday.  She is 80 years old.  My sister asked her this morning if she knew how old she was, and she didn't. So she told her, "You're 80!"  When I visited her this afternoon, I asked if she knew how old she was, and she said, "I don't know... 80 something?"  I was so excited!  With her fronto-temporal dementia, aphasia, and Alzheimers, that was really good!  We enjoyed the lunch I brought from Panera, and she opened her gifts.  I think the present she liked the best was this:

One of my daughter's bridesmaids is an artist.  She made a beautiful painting of my daughter and her husband that was used for their guestbook.  I've seen some of her other work on Facebook.  I sent her a photo of my mom's cats, and she created this.  I think it's just beautiful!  If you're interested in having a painting like this done (she will ship anywhere), let me know and I'll put you in touch.  I just love it!

Moving on to funnies...

At my husband's job, they used to have someone who would steal people's lunches.  He tells the story much better, but suffice it to say, they caught the secretary, not only taking lunches, but other things from the break room.  Every job has that one (at least) weirdo!
