Oh, Daylight Savings Time. I hate you. You stink. (That reminded me of a Shel Silverstein poem about homework! (I think it's in Where the Sidewalk Ends-great humorous poems for kids and adults alike! (affiliate link)
But as I was saying... DST. I love to get back the hour they take away from us in Spring, but I'd be much happier to be like Arizona and just have one "time" for all year. And if we stayed on DST, it would get dark at 6:30 instead of 5:30 in the winter, which is much more reasonable, don't you think?
I love this time of year. I would love it more if we could get our temps lower than the 80s, but I still love it! Thanksgiving is my favorite meal of the year, but I'm not sure exactly what I'll get this year. I won't be cooking a feast since our kids will probably not be here. We share them with their spouses' families and/or our exes, and they can't be everywhere at once. We will take whatever time they are able to spend with us. I will either have Mom over for a couple of hours and cook a small meal or take her out if any place is open.
But don't you just love the Thanksgiving meal? Do you call it stuffing or dressing? We call it dressing, and we make it with cornbread, among other things, and sage. Turkey, dressing, rolls, gravy, green bean casserole, macaroni and cheese (or mashed potatoes) and cranberry sauce (the jelly kind, not the berry kind.) Delicious! What does your Thanksgiving feast consist of?
Moving right along...

The time changing is ridiculous as is our government which is why they can't agree to end the madness! We don't care, pick one time and stick with it. Mom hosts Thanksgiving these days so we have the big traditional meal.
ReplyDeleteLove all the funnies. You made me laugh more than once.
ReplyDeleteI used to do the big dinners for the family, but no more. We're having meatloaf with potatoes and gravy. Looking forward to it too.
