Here in Texas, particularly near the Gulf Coast, we are NOT prepared for icy weather! We are accustomed to a humid, subtropical climate. We can brave a hurricane with little problem, but give us some ice and freezing temps, and all bets are off!
Our average low temperature in January is 53 degrees. Tonight, we will likely hit the teens, and with any precipitation at all, there will be ice on the roads. We DO NOT know how to drive in icy weather (we have little or no experience) nor are our vehicles equipped to do so, and it happens so infrequently that most of our cities are unprepared as well! I just pray the grid doesn't fail like it did three years ago. That was nuts!
Make fun of us. We don't care! We will be back in the 50's and 60's within a week! I'll even get in on the making fun!
It's like the beginning of Covid all over again! |
And last, but not least...

We are loving our three days of below zero temps. The air is so fresh and crisp and the sun shines so bright. We look forward to these arctic blasts every winter. It's not for everyone, but we hate the heat of summer. Some like it hot, some like it cold.
ReplyDeleteWe have more better weather than not, but I can drive in the snow and ice. You made me laugh out loud because I so remember folks not being able to drive in the snow/ice. Love all the funnies. So true.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. ♥
The swamps of south Louisiana are not looking forward to all this, either. We pray it gets warmer soon, but not too warm.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laughs!
We got the cold in Norway too, and a lot more snow. I love it.
ReplyDeleteWe are getting a cold snap here in N. Caroliny too. But we have big double fluffy coats of fur so we are happy. XO. Stay warm there and don't drive on ice. It doesn't work with cars anywhere.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by! we are supposed to have a few days with lows in the single digits...Not uncommon in NEPA!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
