Happy Random Tuesday

 

Hello!  Here we are already at the end of January.  Seems like Christmas was just over.  I'm happy to say my son's surgery two weeks ago was a success, and his healing, thus far, is going very well. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Our snow has melted, and although it was pretty, I am grateful.  I am not built to withstand below freezing temperatures for very long!  But if I have to choose between the beautiful snow and the slippery ice storms we usually have, I'd pick the snow!

Snow in South Texas

 I can't believe it, but it actually snowed!  This may seem like nothing to those of you who are accustomed to snow, but for those of us in South Texas, this is not the norm!

It's beautiful, but I can't imagine dealing with this all winter.  It started shortly before 7AM and continued to the afternoon. I've never seen anything like it here.

Tonight, it all turns to ice, which is actually much more common for this area and much more dangerous.  But we have enjoyed our version of winter wonderland today.

Here We Are Again

 

But we can't find them, because we don't own any!

Texas is closed again, at least, part of us.  They are predicting 3 to 5 inches of snow from just south of Dallas all the way to Galveston.  I will be sure to post pictures IF it actually happens.  It would be a first.  Usually, we get ice rather than snow, and when we have gotten snow, it melts relatively quickly, so... we'll see.

Our closest Trader Joes is at least 30 minutes away.  Bummer.

Random Tuesday Thoughts

 I only have prayers to request.  First, my son is having major surgery today.  Second, the people of California where the wildfires are burning so out of control.  That is really all there is to say today.  I have some funnies, and I mean no disrespect, but sometimes we could all just use a little laughter.

Texas is Closed!

 Down here in Texas, we are not accustomed to freezing temperatures, especially when Sunday we had a high in the mid-70's.  If you don't like the weather here, wait a few minutes, and it will change.
